Window Pains examines how architectural forms—specifically the window—can serve as a framework for constructing memory, imagination, and alternative narratives. Each compartment holds a fragment of a possible past or a potential home, blurring the line between personal history and fictional reconstruction.
By using imagery drawn from diasporic and domestic life, the collage reflects on memory as something both unstable and transformative. It can distort, comfort, or heal—depending on how it’s framed. These layered visual moments invite viewers to consider how memory shapes our sense of identity and belonging, especially across distance, time, and cultural inheritance.
