Drain Holes Under My Toes 2, 2024

DryDex on Canvas

36 x 36 x 36 in.

92 cm x 92 cm x 92 cm

This piece examines the quiet intimacy of the shower as a space of reflection, exposure, and ritual. The sculpted canvas mimics the tiled floor and walls of a domestic bathroom, rendered in thick, tactile layers of Drydex. A small drain is subtly embedded into the composition—an understated but central presence. Here, the textures underfoot become a point of emotional entry, evoking the feeling of water, warmth, and the vulnerability of being alone with one’s thoughts. The work invites the viewer to slow down and consider the physical imprint of everyday spaces on memory and the body.
